Happiness or Home

The ancient forest whispers promises of happiness.

I willingly enter, not afraid of the possible danger.

As I tread slowly through the mud, the sun sets on the forest.

The moon rises, and evil creeps in the shadows.

What I was looking for was uncertain, but I continued nevertheless.

It was too late to turn back.

Slowly, the time passes.

Memories of my family fill my mind.

I had yelled at them, frustrated by their lack of understanding.

I slammed the door as I left my house.

Rain drips down my skin, bringing me back to the present.

The wind rustles the leaves above while I climb over fallen trees.

Startled by distant voices, I quicken my pace.

I search for a way out, and branches tear at my clothes.

In my hurry, I trip on a tree root and fall.

Thick plants wrap around my feet.

Breathing heavily, I cry for help.

The wind drains out my pleas.

It was my foolish choice to enter this place.

Tears fill my eyes as the shadows creep closer.

Alone and trapped, my hopes of freedom diminish.

The darkness eats away at my mind.

I wake up, ending the nightmare.

The illusions of the night were gone.

Birds chirp, and the sunlight hits my face.

I run home, where true happiness fills my heart.

Trees surrounded by fog.
